Ardi, Ards, or Art for short. Born in Detroit, MI. Raised in (Da) Troy, MI. Residing in Midtown. She received her undergraduate degree in Urban Studies from Wayne State University in 2013 and just couldn't stay away. Passionate about all things Detroit. Seriously. Detroit freak. Considers herself an urbanite, thinks she's funny (just go with it), and her most promising talent is easily her ability to burp her ABCs. She'll show you, if you're into that kind of thing. She thinks she's a "social butterfly." Don't feed her ego, but if you love a good chit-chat don't hesitate to strike up a convo!
Vice President Monica Thipparthi
Wooing everyone over with the neutrophil references in her vice prez speech, it's no surprise this Certified Nerd hails from our own Wayne State University. Monica received a bachelors degree in Psychology from WSU in 2014. Second to eating, Monica loves cooking Indian, Mexican, and Italian food. Born and raised as a "California girl," Monica enjoys relaxing near the beach (clearly to get her tan on...hehe) and has visited Sea World over 8 times! Her favorite chile is a habanero pepper, so don't bother competing with her in a chile-eating competition. Monica's positive energy is absolutely contagious, as is her "IDGAF but I do GAF" attitude.
Treasurer Nathan Nartker
Born and raised surrounded by farms and 18-wheelers in a Northern Michigan village, Nate quickly realized that spending the rest of his life planting corn or taking week-long trips across the country to deliver goods were not options. He packed up and headed south to the city of Ann Arbor where he eventually graduated with a degree in Neuroscience. During his gap year before medical school, Nate fed gambling addictions while dealing one hot card after another at a casino with dreams of one day getting tipped. He never did. When he's not on campus you can catch him talking to/playing with his two cats in the city of Livonia where he lives with his better half (not a cat). He has recently picked up a hobby of flying RC aircraft and hopes one day he will actually look like he knows what he's doing when he's flying in front of the kids who frequent his local park. Any financial questions not related to gambling? Deal 'em his direction.
Representative Dan Noack
Daniel Patrick Noack was born on a full moon in Roscommon, Michigan, where he was raised. After completing his high school football career in the Jack Pine conference of Northern Michigan, he took his talents to Ann Arbor to earn his undergraduate degree in 2012, as well as a Master’s degree in Molecular and Integrative Physiology in 2013, also at the University of Michigan. While he was “learning all of the science,” Dan also had an effective career as an emergency medical technician, possibly saving countless lives. It was at least 2. The data has yet to be finalized. Dan’s hobbies include knitting, visiting puppies at local animal shelters, and lifting, getting jacked, crushing it, and all manner becoming large. Feel free to challenge him to arm wrestling. You will lose.
OSR Representative Riemer Praamsma
Graduating from Calvin College in 2014, Riemer majored in Biochemistry. He grew up in northern Michigan (Cadillac), and enjoys to spend his time running, skiing, sledding, swimming, reading, watching movies, and anything else that might distract him from his studies. Fun fact about Riemer: he almost died on a roller coaster once. Really. His long term goals are to write a short story with a map, learn Spanish, visit all the continents, and go to space (because my dream is to be a space doctor explorer...).
Representative Elizabeth Ulrich
Representative Bryce Bredell
Bryce "Call Me Charles" Xavier Bredell, renowned scholar-athlete,hand model, and Ann Arbor native is a two-time graduate of the Jason Otter School of Basketball and was once heralded as the most talented young player north of the Ohio River Valley. However, intractable as a youth, Bryce fell in with an academic crowd and developed a habit of acquiring various degrees at the University of Michigan. Coaches, friends, and family maintain that it was not the ever increasing pressure, but rather a lack of challenge in the form of serious competition on the court that led to Bryce's loss of focus and control of his once-promising career. In 2013, off-court antics (the same variety of which had earned him his BS in previous years) led to both a season-ending groin injury and yet another degree, this time an MS in Molecular and Integrative Physiology from the same University that had once recruited him feverishly as the hometown hero that would re-ignite Tree Town's passion for the beautiful game. Still, if you're walking through the well-lit halls of Mort Harris Recreation Center in Midtown Detroit today, keep your ears open. You might just hear the tell tale sound of Mr. Bredell's shoes on the hardwood as he spots up from behind the arc, followed by the sweet symphony of rubber on nylon. For, even though he still struggles with off-court distractions (currently pursuing an MD degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine), Bryce is determined to not be written off as a cautionary tale. This has been a WSUSOM 20 for 18.
